Stuttgart Region Economic Development Corporation is the central point of contact for investors and companies in the city of Stuttgart and the five surrounding districts.
We publicize the qualities of the business location, support companies in settling here and promote the development of the location with numerous projects and offers. Young companies that receive high-quality support are more successful in the long term. That’s why WRS promotes regional startups by providing them with advanced skills, and supports them in building networks or obtaining early-stage financing and workspaces.

Economic development of the state capital Stuttgart
The business development department of the state capital Stuttgart is the central contact for investors and companies in the city of Stuttgart. It offers support for settling in the city, for the entrepreneurial development of already existing businesses and assistance with start-ups.
The range of services for startups and young entrepreneurs includes, in addition to the startup office with its consulting services, numerous events and seminars, the procurement of rooms for startups and creative centers incl. possibilities for interim use as well as various publications on the topic of startups, creative and startup centers.
Business Angels Stuttgart Region
The Business Angels Region Stuttgart (BARS) are private investors with entrepreneurial experience who not only offer venture capital to young promising companies, but also take pleasure in personally supporting high-growth companies with their industry, management and leadership experience and contacts.
Through its activities and network, the association offers direct access to promising start-ups, innovative young growth companies and the regional start-up scene.
The Business Angels Region Stuttgart promote an investment culture that focuses on ideas and brains. With their commitment, they want to contribute to the future of the Stuttgart economic region and the state of Baden-Württemberg.
Baden-Württemberg: Connected e.V.
Baden-Württemberg: Connected e.V. (bwcon) is the leading business initiative for the promotion of Baden-Württemberg as a high-tech location.
With over 600 members, the association pursues the goal of promoting the technologies and markets that are crucial for the economy and society. The focus is on information and communication technologies (ICT) as innovation drivers for user industries such as mobility, production and energy.
bwcon GmbH is an integrated innovation service provider and supports companies in the transformation process along the entire value chain. The range of services includes, among other things, the management of ideas and talent, knowledge transfer in companies and the further scaling of business models.
Startbase
The goal of the still young platform Startbase is to make the German startup ecosystem more transparent and innovations more visible in order to help get in touch with young entrepreneurs.
Startups, investors, SMEs or corporates: all players can create a free profile to present themselves in the market. In addition, Startbase offers functions that allow users to follow the most interesting companies – by means of watchlists, product innovations and news about the companies can be subscribed to.
In the long term, the joint project of the Stuttgart Stock Exchange Group and the Bundesverband Deutsche Startups e.V. aims to position itself as a first-class source of information for digital decision-makers in business and politics.
StartUp Stuttgart e.V.
StartUp Stuttgart e.V. is convinced of the potential in Baden-Württemberg for a sustainable start-up culture and believes in the opportunities this offers for each individual and society.
The association organizes events, reports on the start-up scene, provides know-how on the topic of entrepreneurship and founding, arranges contacts as well as spaces and is committed to the start-up location Baden-Württemberg. The community initiative of StartUp Stuttgart has already existed since the end of 2011, it was founded by Harald Amelung, Johannes Ellenberg and Kathleen Fritzsche. At the end of 2014, StartUp Stuttgart was converted into an association.
